Discover Wild Earth Studios: Nettle Fibre Art & Oak Gall Ink Workshops in Farnham
There's something incredibly satisfying about creating with materials gathered from the landscape around us. At Wild Earth Studios, I invite you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and discover traditional crafts that have been practised for centuries.
My name is Nichola Rodgers, an artist, maker and educator with a passion for sustainable creativity. My work is inspired by the British countryside and focuses on transforming natural materials into beautiful, functional art. Whether I'm harvesting wild nettles to make fibre or creating rich black ink from oak galls, I'm fascinated by the stories that nature holds and how we can work alongside it in a respectful and sustainable way.
Join Me for a Hands-On Creative Experience
This autumn I'm delighted to be launching two immersive workshops where you'll learn traditional techniques using foraged materials.
🌿 Nettle Fibre Art Workshop
Discover how one of Britain's most overlooked plants can be transformed into beautiful natural fibre. You'll learn how to identify, harvest and process nettles before twisting and weaving your own cordage and small creations to take home.
✒️ Oak Gall Ink Workshop
Step back in time and learn how to make one of history's most important inks. Using sustainably gathered oak galls and natural ingredients, you'll create your own bottle of beautiful handmade ink and explore drawing and writing with handmade natural tools.
